A comparative study of the sorption properties of commercially available and experimental hybrid sorbents with respect to dissolved arsenite and arsenate ions has been caried out in the present work.
It has been ascertained that the main factor influencing the sorption capacity with respect to arsenic is the iron content in the sorbent phase. Hybrid sorbents based on waste anion exchange resin and iron compounds acquire ability to remove both valence forms of arsenic from water.
The results shown that degree of water purification with hybrid sorbents corresponds to the degree of purification with commercially available materials. At the same time economic performance of the hybrid sorbents is 2-2.5 times higher than the industrial materials.Downloads
