Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • You have not submitted or published this paper to other journals.
  • The submission file is a Microsoft Word document.
  • Internet links in the text have fully valid URLs.
  • The main text is Times New Roman size 12 pt in Word format for Windows with a line spacing factor of 1.2 without hyphenation; author's accents are highlighted in italics, not underlined (everywhere except URLs); all figures, graphs and tables are placed directly in the text (not at the end of the document).
  • The text meets the requirements for stylistics and bibliography from the Guide for the authors.
  • If the material is submitted to the peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions on the Guarantees of Blind Peer Review have been followed when compiling the submission file.

Author Guidelines

Article submission

The article shall be uploaded to the website http://wpt.kpi.ua/. Only in extreme cases by prior arrangement article can be sent to e-mail journal.wpt@gmail.com in doc or docx format.

Article structure

The document must be properly structured and include the following sections:

  • Article title.
  • The name(s) of the author(s), and general information on affiliation(s) of the author(s) (institution, address). The e-mail address of the corresponding author must be provided.
  • Abstract (1800 symbols), in which the relevance, objectives and purpose of the work, the main obtained results and conclusions are indicated.
  • Keywords: 6 keywords in alphabetical order.
  • The main text of the article, divided into subsections according to the template (English / Ukrainian).
  • Conclusions.
  • References.

Non-compliant articles will be rejected.

Text Formatting

Chapter titles are in bold Times New Roman font size 14 pt in Word for Windows with a line spacing factor of 1.2, with 6 pt spacing before and after text, without hyphenation and lowering (selected after choosing the required text in the settings of table boundaries).

Justified text is formed into two columns. Tables and figures can be one or two columns wide.
Margins: top, bottom, left – 2.5, right – 1.5 cm. Indentation of the first line of the paragraph – 1.0 cm.

It is forbidden to use auto-hyphenation in the text.

All terminology and notation used must be clear, abbreviations must be given in full when they first appear in the text.

Units of all the values used in the article must be given in the International System of Units SI.

All figures must be sequentially placed in the text and embedded in a Word file, as well as be provided as separate image files in their original formats (JPEG or TIFF). All figures must have resolution of 300 dpi or higher. Each figure or table must have a caption with a brief description. Figure captions are indicated below the figures, and table captions are indicated above the tables. The titles are in italics in Times New Roman font size 12 pt in Word format for Windows with a line spacing with of 1.2 without hyphenation. The words "Fig. 1" and "Table 1" are in bold italics. There must be one blank line after the figure caption. The table caption must also be preceded by a blank line.

All equations should be typed using an equation editor, and not inserted in a picture format.

Introduction provides information on the relevance, purpose and objectives of the study.

Literature references used in this section should be up-to-date, relevant and not oversaturated with self-citation (at least 70% of the references should include works published within the last 5 years and not more than 20% of the publications of the authors).

Second section describes materials (including information of manufacturer and purity) and methods of analysis. If devices were used for the study, their maker and country of manufacture must be indicated.

If the section provides information on several different methods, it is possible to divide the section into subsections 2.1, 2.2, etc.

Third section should contain the results and their discussion. The results can be represented by graphs, tables, diagrams, etc.

The results obtained must meet the objectives.
Figures and tables must be mentioned in the text before they appear. The results presented must be interpreted.

Placing figures or tables one after another without text between them is strongly not suggested.
It is permissible to divide the section into subsections 3.1, 3.2, etc.

It is not suggested to end the section with a figure or a table without interpretation.

Each figure or table must have a caption with a brief description.

Fourth section provides brief conclusions that should be consistent with the purpose and objectives.

Conclusions to each subparagraph should be given in a separate paragraph.

Specific results (quantitative values, ranges, etc.) should be mentioned in the conclusions.

The text of the article must be followed by duplication of the title and abstract in another language (Ukrainian) and bilingual information about the authors.

It is also desirable but not necessary to provide the contact details of two possible reviewers.

It is recommended to use a template (English / Ukrainian) when writing an article.

References

Reference citations in the text should be identified in accordance with American Chemical Society style, АСS – "(Author last name, year)".

The list of references should be arranged accordingly to the  ACS style in alphabetical order (https://researchguides.library.wisc.edu/acsstyle or https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/bk-2006-STYG.ch014).

The ownership of copyright remains with the Authors.

Authors may use their own material in other publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication and National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” as the Publisher.

Authors are reminded that it is their responsibility to comply with copyright laws. It is essential to ensure that no part of the text or illustrations have appeared or are due to appear in other publications, without prior permission from the copyright holder.

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0 that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal. The use of the material for commercial purposes is not permitted.
