COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF SORPTION PROPERTIES OF COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE AND EXPERIMENTAL HYBRID MATERIALS AIMED TO IMPURITIES OF As (III) AND As (V) IN WATER

A comparative study of the sorption properties of commercially available and experimental hybrid sorbents with respect to dissolved arsenite and arsenate ions has been caried out in the present work.

It has been ascertained that the main factor influencing the sorption capacity with respect to arsenic is the iron content in the sorbent phase. Hybrid sorbents based on waste anion exchange resin and iron compounds acquire ability to remove both valence forms of arsenic from water.

The results shown that degree of water purification with hybrid sorbents corresponds to the degree of purification with commercially available materials. At the same time economic performance of the hybrid sorbents is 2-2.5 times higher than the industrial materials.

CRUSTACEANS AS BIOMARKERS OF POLLUTION IN THE BLACK SEA WITH HEAVY METALS EXPOSURE TO HEAVY METALS

Benthic fauna (zoo benthos) of subpralitoral Black Sea is extremely abundant and diverse. Especially were numerous mollusks and crustaceans. Last play an important role in cleaning up coastal zone, and therefore were chosen as test object. The study conducted on crustaceans and as a comparison to sea water, seaweed and mollusks of the Black Sea revealed an uneven accumulation of heavy metals in aquatic water due to their location in the food chain.

The data obtained show that the species of Decapoda (Callinoctes sapidea) and Isopoda (Sphaeroma Serratum) are able to accumulate heavy metals intensively other taxonomic groups of marine aquatic organisms that may be the result of their adaptation to living in polluted conditions of the environment. The sensitivity of crustaceans such as Sphaeroma serratum to heavy metals makes it possible to use the latter as bioindicators of pollution in border areas of land and sea coast of the Crimea.

SAFETY OF APPLICATION OF POLIVINILHLORID PIPELINES FOR THE CONTACT WITH A DRINKING-WATER

Large-size plastic products are required to be held in tap water for up to 3 days before the first use. Basing on experimental data, we have developed algorithms to predict the regulations for usage of polymeric materials and products in domestic water supply.

CALCULATION OF SUCKS AIR SYSTEMS IN THE PLANT FOR FORREMOVING IRON FROM WATER

CURRENT TECHNOLOGY FOR WASTER WATERS SLUDGE TREATMENT AND REDUCTION

This article describes one of the modern technologies for processing and reduction of sewage sludge. Sludge in wastewater treatment plants (raw and excess activated sludge, etc.) should be treated, providing opportunity to its disposal or storage and to minimize its impact on the environment. The proposed method of reducing the sediment, namely activated sludge (which provides a decrease of 40-80%) can be embedded directly into the technology of sewage treatment, rather than in processing precipitation, which is very important and promising process.

KINETICS STUDY OF IRON HYDROXIDE CARRY BY LOADING POLYSTYRENE FILTERS

The results of the implementation of technological schemes deferrization of polystyrene filters are presented. The processes of washing polystyrene filling in laboratory and production conditions are studied. Influence on the process of cleaning different types of lower distribution systems is presented.  Shows the kinetics of leaching of contaminants from the load and determined the duration of flushing.

PHYSICO-CHEMICAL THEORY OF CLEANING WATER ALUMINUM SULFATE KOAHULYUVANNYAM (POST 1)

The authors suggest a new physical-chemical theory of water treatment coagulants (eg aluminum sulfate). For the first time expressed the opinion that the hydrated aluminum ion in the solid crystalline sulphate (Al2(SO4)3*24H2O) is in the form of dimer [Al2(H2O)24]6+. Last ochyschayemiy water in the presence of sufficient alkaline reserve undergo hydrolytic polymerization of the scheme:

[Al2(H2O)24]6+ → [Al2(H2O)24(OH)2]4+ → [Al4(H2O)36(OH)6]6+

→ [Al6(H2O)36(OH)12]6+ → { [Al2(OH)6]3 [Al6(H2O)36(OH)12]2}6+micelles
aggregation of micelles in Globular aggregates and chain structure → flakes.
