PARAMETERS AND INDICATORS OF A CONDITION OF WATER SUPPLY, QUALITY OF DRINKING WATER AND HEALTH OF THE POPULATION

The development of the unified parameters and indicators of a condition of water supply, quality of drinking water and health of the population for their subsequent introduction at various levels in Ukraine is executed. The specified parameters and indicators are necessary for realization everywhere with use of uniform criteria state social-hygienic of monitoring (SGM) on section “Drinking water and health of the population” with the subsequent preparation and introduction of a complex of measures on improvement of quality of water used by the man, and condition of health of the population of Ukraine.

MODELING OF PROCESS OF MAGNETIC PURIFICATION OF LIQUID ENVIRONMENTS FROM FERROMAGNETIC IMPURITIES IN THE CASE OF VARIABLE VELOCITY

The mathematical model of process of the magnetic besieging of admixtures in a porous filtering nozzle which takes into account reverse influence of characteristics of process (concentrations of sediment) on the parameters of environment at the terms of variable entrance velocity was offered. The algorithm of decision of the proper nonlinear perturbative problem of type “convection-mass-transfer” was built. On this basis was conducted a computer experiment, the results of which, in particular, confirm the known fact, that the productivity of work of filter substantially depends on velocity of filtration. Within the framework of this model is foreseen an automated control of process of the besieging of admixtures in the magnetized filtering nozzle depending on a basic data of water environment and velocity of filtration.

ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OF NANOSTRUCTURED ALUMINUM OXIDE OBTAINED BY PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION

Sorption properties of nanostructured powders of aluminum oxide, obtained by EB PVD at condensation temperatures 100-650° С, with respect to positively charged metal ions and negatively charged ions of non-metals with different ionic and atomic radius were studied.

A comparative study of the adsorption capacity of nanostructured aluminum oxide, depending on the structural characteristics of the obtained materials revealed that it adsorbs predominantly positively charged metal ions. It appears that high sorption capacity of the nano-alumina takes place with ion or atom radiuses increased. However, the adsorption of anions does not depend on the structure of aluminum oxide.

It is revealed that nanostructured alumina can adsorb and retain on its surface metal and nonmetal ions, which makes it a promising material for water purification.

METHOD OF CALCULATION OF SELF-CLEANING HYDRODYNAMIC FILTER OF TYPE “CYLINDER IN A CYLINDER”

MAGNETICALLY-FILTRATION PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITION GRANULAR NOZZLES OF MAGNETIC FILTERS

Magnetically-filtration properties of composition granular nozzles of magnetic filters were investigated. It was shown that the size of middle induction in the volume of nozzle depends on correlation of the masses of granules of ferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic. The size of remaining magnetizing of composition nozzle in 2-3 times is less from the known ball-shaped nozzle. The influence of tensity of the external magnetic field on the size of coefficient of besieging was shown.

RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION OF THE GROUNDWATER IN ZHITOMIR REGION

Radioactive contamination takes a special place in general pollution of environment. Large territory of Ukraine was polluted with radioactive contaminants after terrible accident on Chernobyl NPP. In this article the results of research of groundwater radiation in Zhitomir region are given. In addition, problems related to this contamination are noted.

CALCULATION OF AVERAGE OF CHEMICALS IN DRINKING WATER AND WATER BODIES

The methodology and the formula have been developed for the calculation of average concentrations of chemicals and their compounds in drinking water, water bodies, as well as other media in the presence of values below the sensitivity of the method (BSM). The basis of this approach is accounting frequency of laboratory results that are defined as BSM among total obtained set of data. The mathematical justification of the adequacy of the above mentioned method and formula was performed.

The proposed calculation method can be used to calculate the total actual load of chemical elements (including metals) and compounds on the human body that is necessary to develop and implement measures to protect the living environment and public health.

REAGENT WATER SOFTENING WITH USE OF ALUMINUM-CONTAINING COAGULANTS

The results of determine the effectiveness of aluminum-containing coagulants for water softening was presented. It is shown that the use of lime, soda and alkali the efficiency of softening is low. With using basic reagents with aluminum-containing coagulants degree of softening increases 2 ÷ 8 times at low values of residual alkalinity. Efficiency of the process depends on the consumption and the ratio of reagents.
