HYGIENIC, MEDICAL AND ECOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF USE OF CHLORINE DIOXIDE AS WATER DISINFECTANT (THE MONOGRAPHY ANNOUNCEMENT)

The analysis of hygienic, medical and ecological aspects of chlorine dioxide used as water disinfectant is given in the work presented. Chlorine dioxide provides an epidemic safety of drinking water due to a high viricidal, bactericidal and mycocidal effectiveness and CDO is not toxic either in the context of the influence on the laboratory animals organisms or concerning hydrobionts when dumping disinfected waste waters is shown. Key words: water, disinfection, chlorine dioxide, hygienic, medical and ecological aspects.
